 Black Shape
« Thread Started on Dec 22, 2006, 10:08pm »

This is a picture that was captured during a recent investigation in a Brooklyn apartment (12/2/06). You can see a black form at the bottom of the pic, in the doorway. It is obviously blocking the doorway, as you can see the light reflecting off the door, and you can see where this shape blocks that light. The shape itself reflects no light. Thoughts?

We haven't figured it out yet. But I am 6' tall, and this thing would have been way shorter than me, almost by about a foot.

This is a very strange picture. Even the skeptic in me can't come up with a explaination for this one. I am assuming that this picture was taken with a digital camera, and not with film. So that rules out film defect. Its very weird. So weird that to try to explain it would only be stating the obvious: a) the photographer didn't see the shape when he/she took the picture. b) It is clearly blocking the scenery behind it with out any sort of light reflecting off (in effect that would give us some clue to its dimensions i.e. depth, etc.). c) whatever the shape may be, it is seemingly in the picture, as would a person or some other phyiscal object, and not something that seems to be... "on top of" or "added after to" the picture.

well lets go the opposite route. what isn't it. it doen't appear to be a person- you would have seen him / her. someone or somethings shadow.you probably would have figured that out by now. we know it's not an orb. camera strap, photographers finger - no, light reflection, defect in the film- I don't think so.It's not something you can see through, it appears to be solid. I guess it's just one of those things that we'll never figure out. any other suggestions. billyd

It looks like the shape of a finger, like a thumb in front of the lens. Why it would come out perfectly black I do not know but the shape is nearly identical to my thumb, perfectly curved top and all.

We thought it looked finger or thumb-shaped as well. But a finger in front of the lens would obscure the whole (or most of) the photo, not the small amount it has here.

Just to interject, I took this photo with a Cannon Rebal EOS 35 MM camera and Kodak gold 400 speed film, this was NOT a digital photo. I have been photographing for many, many years and have been involved in this field for over 15 years, I can assure you I do not place appendiges in fron of my cameras ;) I consider it to be an anomaly, I have tried to recreate it with similar lighting conditions (by memory of course) but to no avail.

Odd photo...is it proof of a ghost?....absolutely not.....is it an odd anomaly, yes, hopefully we can one day return to the premisis where this activity is present and try either to contact and or dismiss this claim.
