Hello,
I am wondering if I buy a digital voice recorder if I should get the upgraded one that has a cord to connect to the PC. It is like $20.00 more just for that. But I heard you can just get a wire that plugs from the ear phone jack on the voice recorder to the mic jack on your computer and use an audio program to record with. What are your thoughts? Thanks!

Either one is good for the purpose of starting out, however if you are using a analog and or digital recorder you may use an audio cord (Stereo preferd) and use a basic audio program or a more advanced one such as (Cool Edit*). If you are strictly using a digital recorder I suggest using the (Olympus WS-100) which will retail about $100, which is the type we use. Most Sony recorders which will run you about $60 most of these will not only come with standard softwear but will also come with a USB cable. The Olympus WS-100 can be plugged into the PC or laptop from its base, USB hook up so it's the simplest to use.

I use the sony ICD ST25. It cost more than some other recorders but it's an excellent recorder. It comes with usb cable and audio software to down load your EVPS.I also get some pretty good results. billyd
